WOW eek

See, it pays to do your homework. Just be glad you didn't end up with what would have been an enormous headache. There are plenty of SVT's for sale here and elsewhere...don't give up just look a little harder, you won't regret it. cool

That car sounds just like the one that was on ebay about a year ago from NJ. I was considering buying it then for spare parts. It sold for some where between 1500 and 2000. I think there was a small fold in the roof on the passenger side. If he is asking 8000 he is making a lot of money off of it even with it fixed.

Good homework job, iso svt. On the bright side (for buyers, not owners frown ), you can buy early SVTs for only a couple thou more than the one you looked at.

I got one I'll sell ya. but not low low miles just turned 70k. I've got some minor things to fix on it tho.

BTW In a straight line, CSVT will not take a MTX SHO (not intending to start a flame war), UNLESS the MTX SHO driver can't drive for poopoo

I just checked there and found an Add for a 1998 Silver SVT for $7995 in Richmond VA. Any chance this could be the same car?? The pic link in the add leads to this pic

Well I'm sure you're right that the SHO can beat the SVT in straightline- but the SVT sure felt quicker and tighter. My father has been driving fast fords for most of his life and his first impression of the SVT was how incredibly responsive it was. The SVT isn't the fastest ford but might be one the most fun fords to through through the turns. laugh

With regards to that SVT pictured in Richmond for $7995- it's definitely not the same car. The one I looked at was in Arlington, VA and had different wheels (they looked more like the new focus svt wheels). If you come across a silver 1998 svt with a new paint job on the front end that as something of an orange peel quality to it (if you know what I mean) then you might be looking at the car I nearly fell victim to.

I found my 98.5 SVT on Ebay in Chicago... clean title, nothing more than a few scratches and a bad touch up job on the rear bumper... 57k mi, and I only paid $9500. I feel that I got a really good deal on it, and haven't had any trouble yet. To get to my point... check out eBay, internet listings, stuff like that, and find something that's close to you that you can test drive before you buy it like i did... you can find some AMAZING deals! (just remember to carfax!!!)

i got mine for an undisclosed amount of money. all i will say is: ya gotta love it when someone buys another car and needs to sell! smile

find one you like, and dont be afraid to haggle. give an honest price and you could be surprised at how receptive a seller can be.

did you know that alot of dealerships wont honor some front end warranties if the car has been visably wrecked??? just a FYI...
