Where are the drain and fill plugs on the transmission. I was going to change the fluid to Mobil 1 today, and all I can see is one black plug near the botom of the transmission, it has a allen type plug. But I cannot see the one that would be at the top for filling it. Anyone know where it is, what it looks like, what side it's on etc. Remember, it's for a manual, SVT. Thanks for the help. frown

Rydell,
There are 2 allen key type drain plugs. One is at the front of the tranny.....where you fill it up, and the second is at the side of the tranny......where you drain it. By side I mean near the oil pan!
Hope this helps.
Oh yeah, good luck changing it without a syphon hose of some kind to replace the fluid!!!!!!!! wink

There's a good walk through in the FAQ section, and tells where everything is. Also has anyone actually replaced the fluid with the Ford synthetic fluid, I'm kind of weary of dumping in the coctail.

Has anyone reported any problems with this mod. My car has 90K on it and this is most likely my next job.

I had Dixie Ford do it to my tranny under warranty
laugh

While it will not fix your tranny problems per se, it has improve it a bit. The cold shifting was improved somewhat, when its nice and warm outside, it shifts like a hot knife in butter...

If I were to spend the money, I would say buy yourself 3 bottles of Mobil1 ATF for 1/3 the price and stick in the friction modifier if you wish.

Hope this help.
