I have been gone for about the past 2-3 days so today when I check my e-mail and I find a e-mail with a virus in each of the 3 accounts I posted. Of course I was dumb enuf to put the actual address there (my fault) so I can see why it happened. I was thinking it was a coincidence at first but being that they all had the same subject, and virus I knew something/someone got it off of here.

Virus Name: W32.Klez.H@mm
E-mail subject: "Hello, ****, meeting notice" was one of them and I forget the other two (deleted them already"

Hope this doesn't get anyone else, keep an eye out, I know I'm going to edit my post now.

This is a good reason to run McAfee VirusScan. Keeps all those pesky viruses supressed!

If anyone thinks they may have gotten this virus, I would go to Norton's Virus Database and download the Removal Tool they have for download that repairs this virus and it's brothers. Here's the link to the w32.klez.h@mm info page.

McAfee VirusScan is passible in nailing viruses at best.

Norton is the better solution.

But I perfer Panda Antivirus since it's even better then Norton.

shotwell,

I was a die hard McAfee fan for YEARS...
I mean YEARS....

McAfee was the cream in my coffee..
You could NOT get me to use anything else.
Recently I have been having problems with McAfee VirusScan Version 6.xx.
Their Tech Support is HOPELESS, DAZED, and CONFUSED...
After trying for an entire month to solve my stupid McAfee problems,
I uninstalled it and installed Norton AntiVirus 2002.

Norton scanned my PC from the CD-ROM and found THREE virus'
that were present on my PC that McAfee hadn't detected for almost THREE YEARS !!!

So that is all I have to say about McAfee.
Norton has been winning awards CONSISTENTLY
for the last 7 or 8 years, and McAfee, hasn't even gotten an honorable mention...

I've got two other laptops and a server also running McAfee.
I will let them stay on McAfee until the same problem I have develops on the other PCs.
In the meantime, McAfee is their main VirusScan program,
with my Norton VirusScan scanning them from the Network connection.
The very first time something tries to replicate itself from on PC to another,
Norton is going on ALL of them.

You don't know until you at least give it a try...

You don't have to post on that list to get this. I get virus e-mails everyday. People use programs to automatically scan for e-mail addresses and send out the trojan e-mails.

It's pretty simple, really.. Someone on here took all those e-mail addresses and put it in their address book. Problem is, that person was already infected with the E.Klez virus, and now he's unknowingly spreading it to all of you.

I already get this virus mailed to me almost weekly, have been getting it for nearly 4 months now! I just delete it and keep going, as there's no way to stop it. But Norton does detect it and does a great job in general, much happier with it than McAfee.
