Camaro V6 MTX
Does anyone know the perf stats on these? {Heh-hum, not that I have any particular reason to ask......}
But I assume a 3300 lb car with a torquey 3.8L pushrod engine (200 hp, 225 tq) and an mtx should be faster to 60 than a Contour 2.5 MTX right?
Now, say hypotheically even if 3 girls were in it, with a girl driver, would it be wrong to assume the contour may end up like a car length back or would that mean there may be some power loss problems with the contour?
Just curious.
97 SE MTX, KKM, UR UDP, 19# Injectors, SVT TB, SVT UIM, SVT Flywheel, Grizzly Street Clutch, Upgraded motor mounts, mystifed precats, brand new main cat, SVT exhaust sans resonator, 205-55-15 Dunlop SP5000's 154hp / 156 tq before the SVT exhaust, SVT dual honed upper and swapping the mystery main cat for mystery precats. 0-60: 7.4 1/4 Mile: 15.7 according to car-stats.com. Transmission type is unknown. If the car is an MTX that could be an advantage or disadvantage for him depending on whether he can drive or not. I'll put it this way, if I was in an SE with your mods, I wouldn't be afraid to ask her to line up at the track and see if she wanted to run. -neal EDIT: DOH! just re-read the title and realized it's an MTX

SLOW!!!.............VERY SLOW! I went to the track and it just so happens that there was a v6 in the next lane. I had about 3 cars on him. Maybe he could'nt drive but my opinion is they are slow.

So does that mean to turn on the A/C he would have to back off the throttle slightly and he would still win?

You merge quickly, or you get run over.) I started easily, and then put it to the floor at like 5 mph. She stomped it from the start so I did start off behind, but I never started to catch up either. If anything she was edging on me slowly :-( Now I'm all paranoid there's something wrong with the car. Time to pull out the scan tool and capture some second gear runs (large abandoned industrial park driveway) to see if my 4000 to 6900 rpm times get better with the secondaries pinned open. There was one time about two weeks ago where it felt like they totally died out on me (car fell flat above 5k with no IMRC bump, sounded a little strangled) so maybe I could have a weak IMRC motor???? Or maybe I missed her second tail pipe and it was really a V8 that I was almost keeping up with :rolleyes: (yeah right)

Camaros are pretty heavy...if I remember the old dragrace formula, >100lbs=1/10 in the 1/4, I forget the relative hp equivilant. Weight is important, as adding more hp is likely to kill drivetrain components on a heavy car (and beefing up the 'train usually adds weight as well). Wonder what that Camaro has as a final drive ratio...that's easily changed and makes a big difference too.
98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....
