Hey all, I'm from Toronto and own a 97 Contour LX V6 5 speed and was wondering how many Kilometers you ppl get off of a full tank of gas. I can usually go about 400 maybe a bit more, I do tend to shift a little high every now and then and since gas prices seem to keep rising and not deciling, well if your from Toronto you know what I mean about gas prices.
Thanks Jeff

Well...

In normal commutes, I go about 380-400 before I fill up but thats with close to 1/8 - 1/16 or so left. There is a lot of stop and go and some open streches. Recently, with a fair bit of highway driving, I was average 515 or so for 3 weeks with some very high sprints in there for fun...hehe..

I've been tracking my mileage since I bought my SVT more than 2 years ago and I use 8.8 to 9 litres per 100 km. I usually get about 530-550 km per tankful, when my fuel light comes on.

Recently I've been getting about 570km's per tank (right mt,all highway). In the colder months I find this to drop to about 540-550km's.

There's a fuel light? I've had my needle below empty and I've never seen one! I typically get 400km/city and 500km/hwy, less with the air on. I have a V6/ATX.

I usually have a 50/50 mix of city/highway and I'll get a little over 400 before they fuel light comes on, though I can do a lot better shifting sooner or with more highway (assuming NOT going 140 at 4K rpm :oP )

Best mileage with my 99 SVT was 7.5 l/100 on a run to the USA. Tire pressure plays a huge role I find. Recently I have been getting about 500 - 520 on a tank. Bit of a lead foot in the city.

0, zip, zero. You've read it right! I can go '0' with one tank. Why you ask? That stupid broken VSS spindle is stuck inside on the speedometer driver pinion and I cant get it out for the new VSS! So my speedo, odo, tripo don't work!

First the first time in the history of ownership of my SE did I see 30mpg. That was to and from Niagara Falls from Brampton doing an average of 130kph, up to 150kph (chosen safe limit) while the other 3 were sleeping. And that's with 4 occupants and all the performance mods. Usually only see a maximum of 26mpg or about 450km's on a tank.
