How fast do you all drive on QEW??? The very first time I drove there myself and my friends to Toronto I was going about 80mph (dunno off-hand what's that in kmph), and quite a few fast-lane drivers pass me; then a cop pass me 20-30mph faster than I was! Now, of course, I keep passing almost everybody; but I have no idea how fast I'm going because the VSS on my car is broken. So, how fast do you normally drive on QEW???

Average speeds are around 120 to 130kph on the 400 series highways, including the QEW. Outside of the cities, it is not unusual to see 140 to 160kph, especially towards London to the west and east of Newcastle (East of Toronto).

Just have to watch out for those Highway Rangers. One SVT owner claims to have seen 240kph on the 407 a couple of times during impromptu highway races.

Hee hee....that would not be me...I have hit 230 though on the 400 series on a couple of occasions, the other nite I hit over 240 going downhill...WOW!...

But I would be cautious at times too. Cops are out there, especially on long weekends and occasional safety blitzes.

Do you have an SVT, or a chip? Or do you have both??? Maybe you just disconnected your speedometer? How did you go 143mph????? I'm just curious (112mph limiter).

I've hit 117mph in my 98, going down the 407 eastbound. I was amazed at how gentle the car was in refusing to go any faster. Not like those dodge speed limiters where the engine rpms bounce off the damn thing...good way to break your camshaft chains...

Heck man, everyone in GTA drives crazy and fast! Everyone is usually careful though. Average for me is 130 kph, done more than that on occasions.
