Has anyone ever had a problem with the coolant light coming on when the car is cold? When I first start the car I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that the coolant light stays on until the car is completely up to temp. Odd...

I've checked the level and had the actual anti-freeze tested and it seems to be fine. Please let me know if this is a common prob.

Very common problem, if you are on any type of hill the sensor (which tends to be a bit overreactive) will read the coolant as low. Overfilling the coolant tank usually solves this. I can't remember how much more to overfill is recomended but doing a search on the general or problems forums should produce that.

Try about 1/4 to 1/2"... should take care of the problem!

Thanks so much for the help!! I'll give that a try. The light usually goes out once the car is warmed beyond the "C" line. Odd...thanks again!

The light going out after the engine heats up is because as your car warms up more coolant is in the tank, hence why there is a cold and hot level label on the tank.

Bah!! I was just thinking at the new Lt. He just got commissioned on Friday...he's back in town already, huh?

anywho---no, I haven't gotten it fixed. No problems at all the last few days, but when I get back from my trip I'm going to definitely look into it.

Thanks again, gang!
