What Ford dealers in the Metro area are SVT dealers? I refuse to go to Tousley since they won't even let me drive an SVT unless I fill out all the paper work like was buying it. I just want to know if I like FSVT at all. Other wise I will start looking at other cars.

I hope to be in the market for a new car in the next 3-4 months.

The Merc is getting a little worn out now. It is going to need new struts soon (If not already) and the clutch is getting loose now too. And I still have CEL problems (everytime I drive it) since the water pump/ head gasket incident.

Any other recomendations for a new car in the $18k-$22k range.

I believe American Ford may be a SVT dealer, but not sure.

What are you going to be doing with your merc when you buy your new car?

I wish I could afford to keep it, but it will have to be part of the downpayment on a new car. I am not sure if I am going to trade it in or sell it on my own. Whatever I do I have to save money to pay it off, then do which ever I get the most money for it without waiting forever.

American Ford is SVT. Apple Valley Ford is SVT (recommend American, that's where I bought Ross).

If you want to peek a little and see the attitude of the place, cum to the Mustang show tomorrow.

I actually know people who have dealt with American and they are really good. Apple Valley I couldn't even get a salesman to let me look at a SVT Contour that was used awhile back. They ruined it for me to get an SVT, now I have no money to buy one.

Tousley really sucks. The dealer let me test "ride" a focus SVT with them. The guy couldn't even drive a stick very well and didn't know diddly aboput the car. I asked about wehter or not it had a short throw shifter and the guy looked at me like I was from another planet. I could tell that he was used to selling taurus' and trucks as about all he could tell me about the car was how good the air and sunroof were.
As for test riding I didn't mind that so much. I kinda understand when they have a "hot" car on thier hands and not wanting a lot of people to drive it crazy like. BTW I didn't have to fill out any paper work for this either. I don't know what they would have done had I demanded a test drive though.

There's a locator on the SVT website put out by Ford. You can check that for the closest to your house.

A suggestion for another vehicle...have you thought about a Jetta GLI? They're at the upper end of your price range, but a sweet car! I'm thinking about upgrading to one of those. The sticker in Cali with a CD changer and leather was $25K. But, the leather was an option. Check the VW website for details.

That's my two cents! smile
