Well, I tried to get my ac on my 95 Contour recharged yesterday without luck. With my friends opinion they think I may have a bad ac compressor. Where can I go that can help me fix this ac issue, and not rip me off. I am afraid of going to new places for things like these. Or does anyone here know how to work on the ac? Any info would help.

If it happens to be the compressor and you don't want to pay for a brand new one, I've got one used off my 2000 car that should fit over. I can verify the fit before purchase if you decide to go that route.

I think I will call around and see who can tell me exactly what is wrong with the ac. I checked the 2 relays in the distribution box and they were working right.
I called Ford to see how much it would cost for a new compressor, $330, and if they installed it labor costs $190. I don't feel like paying that much for ac, but I will if I have to. Is the ac compressor something a shop has to do? Or do any of you know how to do that kind of work that could help me? I will do more research. If you come up with a price for that ac compressor and see if it will cross over to a 1995 that'd be cool. The more info the better.

mine too, i had my a/c recharged and still nothing just like air comes out, its not cold. my friend(mechanic at tires plus) said that the clutch isnt engageing. i dont know what to do.

Hey Rick with your luck I don't think you should be selling off your spare parts!

Trust me Rusty, I've thought about that very issue. BTW, I've all ready had my A/C failure so I think I'm past that stage. I broke a return line on my A/C when we were pulling the engine the first time around. I had to wait until we pulled the engine the second time to replace it. Guess than is the one small blessing of having my 3L blow up. :rolleyes:

Rick, do you have your sunroof still from the old SVT? I am looking to put one in(since my AC doesnt work).

Yes I have the complete assembly including rack, glass, motor, and overhead console that covers the motor. I'm waiting to hear back from a local guy that stopped last week to see if he wants it, if not I'd be willing to part with it to you for the same price. $600 for everything (plus shipping) or you can meet me at Apple River end of June for a lesser fee on hauling it up there.

I'm not picking on you Rick! When I saw you dead on the track at Gingerman's I felt terrible for you. I said to Andy " no it can't be! That guy is snake bit!" Then I looked for your wife to see if she was running across the infield to kill you! That woman's got to be a saint to put up with the car crap you've put her through. Well let's hope that was your run of bad luck. What's the plan for the 3 L beast anyway?
