Hey all, By the request of a few I am posting this with people who understand our climate. I have a 96 SE currently with snow tires on front and Goodyear Wingfoot's on the rear. This car is so loud that I and going deaf. So I am looking for 2 things. First a new set of tires that are not going to break the bank. Second, a set of rims so I can put my snow tires on them. I really don't care what the rims look like, because I am going for function on this one. Because I have a child in the car I am not looking for race tires and if I don't get the snows on front before it snows I don't want to slide off the road. Any suggestions??????
In addition have any of you purchases tires online? They are cheep but do shops have a issues putting them on if you don't purchase them there?

I have a set of 14" aluminum rims that look like a$$ (surface corrosion) but work great for winter. They are off an 84 tbird, but were on my 95 contour GL for 3 years with no probs.
Comes with four bridgestone blizzaks-only two are worth anything. other two are bald. Use the good two or throw all 4- it's up to you. Make offer...
PS I need to know today if you are interested, because I am leaving tomorrow until mid May.

Thanks for the Reply, I think I will pass on the 14's because I already have Snow tires for 15's.

Neddn, if you already have SNOW tires for the front and all-season tires on the back, I would suggest going to a salvage yard and try to find your exact rims. Buy two of them and get the same tires you have on the rear.
Also, look at Sears Auto Center and check them out for rims. I bought my 15" AR Estrellas(Sears) for like 350 then bought my Dayton Daytona HR(Tires Plus) for 350 rounding to a total of about 700. Then I just bought some All-seasons(Tires Plus) for like 350 andput them on my factory wheels for winter use.
Again, Welcome to CEG and the MN Forum.

Ho problem. Try www.johnsauto.com in Blaine, they have several 15" mystique rims that would fit fine. Not sure on price though.
