Time to take a break from all the complaining. Share your favorite places to eat! I'm trying to get "out there" and trying new places to eat. My current faves are: - Chipotle. Roughly $6-7 for a huge burrito. Many locations around town. - Acme Deli. $4 for the BEST sandwiches. Period. Forgot the exact address, but going down Snelling, you turn onto St. Clair Ave. away from Macalester College. It's at the end of the 1st block to your right.

Of course I would have to say my restaurant, La Belle Vie, but I'm biased. Check out Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine this month. I'm in there.
Some of my favs include:
A Taste of Thailand, great cheap Thai with terrible service, St. Paul Punch, pizza, St. Paul Origami, sushi, Minneapolis Ruths Chris Steak House, great steaks, Minneapolis
If your ever in Stillwater stop in for a bite or to say hi. I'll hook you up.

Best Pizza - Grandpa Tony's -Snelling south of Randolph. Awesome decor too... Chinese, I could list several buffets better than LeAnn Chin for the money. Favorite is Kowloon in Coon Rapids, also has full menu. Chipolte is a winner Noodles is great for bowl meals, and pretty cheap. ($5-$10) Taste of Thailand is good, Fridley has one. Kahn's is good too, their rolls are awesome! For the West Metro, Lucky Inn on Shady Oak. Good healthy place - Q-Cumbers in Edina I actually like Subway better than Quiznos Italian - cheap - Fazoli's in Coon Rapids, Brooklyn Park, or Maplewood. Pricier - Macaroni Grill. Mexican - either Rio Bravo or Don Pablos. Rio Bravo is a bit more Americanized but both rock.
I need to try Acme and Dixies.
I miss the real Uptowner on Grand and Lexington. They had the absolute best breakfasts in a riotous place.
Sydney's falls into the trap of a lot of yuppie places. They charge too much for fancy twists on things and they don't serve you enough food. If I'm going to pay $15 - $20 for a meal, I at least want enough food.
I've yet to find a fancy restaurant worth the money. You pay a fortune for ambience and snootiness which doesn't go into the food.
My favorite restaurant for steaks or anything isn't here in the cities. It's a place called Kurt's Steak House in Delafield, WI. You can get a full meal with appetizers, (modest) drinks and dessert for about $30 a person, plus tip. Unbelievable food in a casual environment. You don't have to dress up, the service is attentive, but not stuffy or hovering... and I can't say enough about the food!
In Green Bay, WI... Oxford, no contest. Good, relatively fancy food in a good atmosphere cheap ($10 - $15 for entrees).
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.

Big Bowl at the Galleria in Edina has really good asian...California Cafe' at MOA...Good german food at both Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit and Gasthof Bavarian Hunter...If you don't mind driving a ways, Harbor View Cafe in Pepin, WI is probably my favorite for really good food, great atmoshphere, and friendly people. Figlio for italian, and Broder's in Minneapolis is relatively inexpensive with very good food.

Kahn's is sweet, I ate there for the first time last week. Also, theres a GOOD chinese restraunt in St. Cloud, not too far from SCSU, can't recall the name of it. Other than that I dont really have any other restraunts or know of any.
