OUCH!!! Talk about expensive! I just called Ford to find out how much the rocker panel covers are for our cars...a WHOPPING grand total of $900 with paint and labor! What is up with that? eek Somewhere along the line my car got jipped. Any thoughts where I can get them cheaper? Junkyard maybe?

No, it's not just the small pieces, but the whole panel cover that spans the distance from tire to tire on each side. I'm not too technical, so I apologize if that doesn't make much sense. The parts guy at Minar Ford called them Rocker Panel Covers. Hope that helps.

Check with a local body shop to see what they can do for you. I know when I had my front end repaired, the parts were less costly than I thought they would be, but I have a pretty good idea that it is structured pricing to the body shops that helps with this. It's worth a try. My whole front end repair including paint was only $1300.

We usually call them side skirts here, even if it isn't the proper name. The body shop idea is a very good one... I was going to mention it too.

Also, don't forget Bill J, he's our ace in the hole.

I called them side skirts when I called Ford and the guy actually laughed! Sometimes...it really sucks being a chic. LOL! Who's Bill J? Also, anyone have a suggestion or recommendation for a body shop?

$900 for side skirts. Their is a sucker born every minute and I hope you are not one of them. Bill Jenkins could probably get you a se painted for $200 depending on his supply. He hooks the CEG up big time. See here...
Sentry Auto Group (Bill Jenkins)
https://www.sentrycars.com/Service/service.htm
He frequently posts deals on the Mailing List and posts specials in his section of the classifieds. You can get quotes by sending email to parts@sentryautogroup.com or check his parts inventory. His #is (800)282-2290x633. He's better to get a hold of on the phone. Most of his emails go days w/o getting answered BTW.

Sorry CLONTOUR, I should have made the proper "introduction."

Thanks, Todd for cleaning up after my oops!

No biggie. I just hate people not in the know getting taken advantage of. The Auto industry is the biggest rip off because people don't take the time to educate themselves on repairs or just plain don't care.
