Why can't Lance talk to a local ISP? He said we needed a whole year's worth of $$$ up front...@$200 per month...$2400 total. If only 1/8 of the members sent in just $10, we'd have enough for 4 years worth of hosting. Seems simple enough to me.

Many small ISP's probably wont have the bandwidth to handle CEG. I've already talked to my boss about this and he said there is no way we could take on the 100+ gb per month that CEG requires, there would be no bandwidth left for the rest of our services. I would suggest looking into some of the bigger hosting companies. You can find some pretty good rates for bandwidth out there (most of these companies assume you are not going to use the bandwidth you pay for, so they offer large bandwidth packages for cheap).

I have asked my boss as well. Even though we have several hundred terrabytes of bandwidth used every month on our sites we can't afford to add the server to our system either.

How about a combined registry and message board? I own/admin the Cougar message board and I don't even own a Cougar any more :p
Our message board system has an import utility for UBB, so everyone would be able to keep their current names unless they already exist on the NECO forum. If they do, chances are they are the same person anyway.
As for the site resources ... we could combine those as well! I'm up for all suggestions, but I can't host the boxes, only the content on my current boxes. If Lance is willing to zip the site and send it along, I can have something up before the end of August.
Lance ... contact me!

FastCougar - Does your site have the capacity to handle an extra 100gb per month of bandwidth?
