I was there, Grandstand C, about four seats from Turn 1. Great seats! Fun race, too. De Ferran was unstoppable... Franchitti caught up to him, but used up his tires in the process, and then the yellow comes out right after Dario goes in for tires and fuel.

A question for anyone else who was there Saturday... About 20 minutes after the end of the Trans-Am race, I thought I saw a purple SVT (w/strobe lights and all) on the course. I was a long way away, and the car was moving away from me, but man, it looked like an SVT. Can anybody confirm or deny this?

Yes, you saw correctly. My brother (AggieSVT) and I saw the vehicle in the paddock on Saturday, and talked to a CART Safety Car dude (he was cleaning them). My brother has pictures, and will post soon.

Sweet looking car, 17" BBS, 245/45 tires (fenders cut), brakes, no cat/res. BUT, the engine was stock! The car is for Wally to preview the track for inspection. The CART dude said they have a SVT Pace car, but it wasn't there that weekend.

Furthermore, the IS300 had a "blower" installed to help it get more power. Bro has pics of that too.......

Dang it... I only visited the Paddock on Thursday (SAE function in early afternoon), and didn't see it then.

Oh well... Good to know my eyes didn't deceive me. I was actually looking out a window on the 11th floor of a building overlooking the backstretch (wife had to get something out of her office) when I saw it.

Sup fellas. Definitely post the pics, please. Or send them my way. I didn't get to go, but my brother and my friends went and they didn't mention any contour. But they went on Sat. Maybe it wasn't there. Anyway, post them pics.
