I was stranded at the Exxon on Allen Genoa at 225. I got there at 7 and didn't get home til 2AM. The Exxon started taking in water and i was parked at the pumps and got water underneath my drivers seat and rear drivers side. I made it home and wet vaccumed the water out and it sat in the garage with windows down and doors open all night and all day today (i didn't go to work). Seems fine.

But my real question is: who drives or knows someone who drives a green SVT with a couple stickers on the back window? I ask because while i was sitting at the Exxon, i saw one actually follow a truck across the intersection, and surprisingly it made it. The water had died down a little, but i wouldn't have gone for it. I was hoping he'd pull into the Exxon, but he kept on. Oh well!

Never even seen a green svt in person, so I quess that means I don't know him. Sorry that your car got flooded. I pulled over on Bay Area and just waited for the water to go down and then got home just fine. Looking foward to Saturday if it doesn't rain. Later eek

Home and Contour ok. My wife got into some water on the way home frome work, '93 Escort wagon. She works on the other side of town off of 290. She did not stall in the water but could not restart after getting out of the water and refueling. She was stranded at 288 and Southmore. I went on a rescue mission after midnight and after not being able to get her car started we began calling towing companies, we needed a tow to McRee Ford in Dickinson. We called several towing companies, most said that they were booked, one would do it for $275, the one we went with would do it for $80 but he was two hours away in Huntsville. This man was an answer to our prayers! We decided to wait for him and in the meantime a mechanic came by and asked if we needed help. He spent about an hour trying to get us going, doing things that I would have done in days past, trying to dry the connections to the starter and even banging on it, and proceeded to diagnose it as mostly a starter problem but the car would not start. (It almost started a couple of times.) We compensated him for his time and he went on. A bit later the wrecker driver arrived and when he opened the door to his truck, it was not hello but "Praise the Lord!" He was not driving a new or even close to new truck, it was an old Dodge tow truck. We are praying it is just the starter and/or some other electrical problem. It was just an evening where I was a bystander watching God work!

Paise God!!

I have seen that Green SVT I think he goes to University of Houston Downtown. He has the SVT front windshield sticker also if this is the same guy and the stickers are on his rear door windows. I tried to tell him about CEG but he thought I wanted to race and took off like a bat out of hell when the light changed. I have seen him more than once next time I will tell him. There is another a black E1 at Fry's he works there I need to put a flyer on his windshield.

G-Man, I didn't get to see if the SVT had a sticker on the windshield. When i noticed it, it was passing by. The water was already going over his hood. Not the smartest thing, but hey, he made it.

Keith, glad you and your wife finally made it home OK. Sorry 'bout the car. I hope it's nothing really serious. I saw way too many cars try to get across the intersection and stall half way. There was a Bud Light truck stuck under the freeway, with the drivers just sitting on top of the cab. No way in hell i would've tried, not even in my truck.

btramm, looks like its supposed to rain this weekend. Watching the midday news and they're saying rain through Sunday. I hope they have a rainout date.

Thanks 1314! The starter has been replaced and the car works. It is still at McRee for the other problem. I don't know if it is due to the weather but this also started the same night, the auto tranny shifter will not shift out of park all the time when you put your foot on the break. You have to pull up on the release lever located on the shifter bezel to move it. Anyway, FREE loaner car so as long as it takes, we are ok!!

I'm high and dry here on the west side of town. Everyone make it through the weekend? BTW, if anyone has an SVT exhaust for sale I'm still looking for one. Thanks!

I survived the storm with only a minor incident of driving out of a parking lot into the middle of the road because it was raining so hard. Fortunately no one was coming so I survived the incident.

On the SVT exhaust, I should have one available shortly if the last muffler from Borla ever shows up at Pro AM. The resonator is removed, but I have it in the garage if you want to reinstall it. Send me an email at mtremlay@houston.rr.com if your interested.
