Well I got my car back from "McRee Ford" and they fixed my water pump, but in the process they forgot to fix the check engine light, bent one of my battery tie down rods to death, cracked my drivers side side-skirt, and lost the jack point moulding. Man about the only thing they good was break the damn thing. They also didn't call me once, not once. The only call I got was to say your cars done. WTF? So needless to say I won't take my car there again. BTW, I immediately took the car back and showed it to the service manager. He looked at it and said he'd get me the moulding, but no side-skirt. I'll be calling Ford and the BBB. GUYS PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE.

Thanks for the heads up. FYI, I got my car at Russell and Smith and have never had a problem with them. They've done everything i needed and replaced my whole warped dash without even questioning me.

btramm,
I am sad to hear about your problems with McRee Ford. Our trips to the service dept have been very good, both with the Contour we bought from them and the Escort wagon we got at another dealer. I hope that this does not tarnish our relationship. The damage done to your car is wrong and they should make it right.
I did have an issue with the Body Shop at McRee where they over sprayed all of the windows when they repaired the drivers front quarter panel after a shopping cart ding and they scratched all of the windows in their attempt to remove the paint. They told me whatever it took to make me happy. I got ALL new windows, all of them! This cost them at least $1200 to do.
Everybody screws up sometime or another, the dealer should make it right!

Keith, In no way does there mistake have anything to do with you or effect the relationship. Unfortunately my age tends to hurt me in these situations, but this time I won't take it. This was a $23,000 dollar investment for me and I'm not going to allow them to damage it and say it was my fault. With all that being said I called Ford and they're going to take care of me. Thanks for your help the last few days, again I certainly don't hold you responsible in any way.

I to took my car there. did good job and cracked my side-skirts, lame. did all recall work first then what I asked for second. I never told them to do that and made them do requested work first. I needed my car. service dude was more than happy to give car back without doing my reqeusted work. With recall work done you know. next time car goes to another shop.

Anyone looking for a shop might consider Benson's Automotive on Hwy 3 in Webster. Since we are on the subject of side skirts, I watched them as they put my car on the lift. When the person doing the lifting saw that the lift would touch the ground effects, he immediately backed it down and put wood blocks on the lift. I have an SE Sport and the SVT ground effects are even lower.
Also, in listening to them talk to customers over the counter and on the phone, they seemed to know what they are talking about. You have to call to schedule an appointment even for a tire balancing, which was why I was there, so they do seem to a large, loyal customer base.
