Hey guys, as you can tell, I'm from Orange County California. The store that I work at will be opening a new location somewhere in Houston in the next couple months, and I have been chosen to come help open. Unfortunately, I can't bring my car . But, as fellow Contique owners, I was hoping I could trouble you guys to help me out. Basically, is there anything I should check out while I'm there? Where's some nice places to eat, night spots, just a general idea of where to go (or stay away from). Thanks in advance, any advice will be helpful.

Ben

P.S. I won't get killed for wearing a Lakers shirt will I? Maybe I should leave that here.....

OCBen,
Welcome to Houston in advance! What is the store you will be opening, and where is the location? Houston is pretty spread out if you count the 'Burbs. I post in the Houston Forum but live in League City, 25 miles to the south on I-45, so I know more about restaurants in this area than I do about other areas. What kind of food do you like, or don't care about? One place that is kind of unique in Houston and has good Cajun food is Pe-Te's, out on my side of Houston. As far as night spots, I never was much for that even when I was single, so I can't help you there. Are you interested in the space program? Space Center Houston is next to NASA headquarters, also on my side side of Houston, take I-45 south to NASA Road 1 and go east a few miles. For more info on entertainment, check out:

Also check out this, a decent "alternative" paper:

Later, Keith

ps. I see lots of lots shirts from lots of teams, no problem. Bring your Lakers Shirt.
