Way back when, when the mailing list was looking iffy, I formed a USENET Newsgroup for cars built on the cdw-27 platform (Contique, Escape, etc.)

Well now I am glad I set it up, based on Lance's post re: shutting contour.org down.

Go to: alt.autos.ford.cdw-27

You can see it on the web via: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=alt.autos.ford.cdw-27&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en

You can email me with questions - I would like to hand off setting up a group FAQ to a dedicated, person who can help lead the group (DemonSVT, Chris Hightower, Lance, Rara, et al)

my email is: ancosta *at* speakeasy *dot* org

Guys it was real and I will miss the discussion on here.

I sincerely look forward to seeing you all on the other side (sans the signal to noise ratio!)

Best of luck to you all!

If your ISP lists the newsgroup, click on this link and you should be able to access the NG on an almost real-time basis. Google is rather slow (3-5 hour delay) to upload.

EDIT: if http:// appears in the link, just remove it. Outlook express or your local newsreader should open with the group if your ISP has it listed.

Guys I am honestly very psyched to hear there is interest in the newsgroup.

While it is not a moderated newsgroup, I think that with good "citizenship" we can make it a public forum which offers great information about our cars.

Also - it will ALWAYS be there unless they change the way USENET is run...so we never have to worry about it being shut down, etc.

I am going to load my newsreader now and get on there.

How about porting some of the FAQ's and also making a newsgroup FAQ as well? That would be a plus I think.

It is funny how important things are until they get taken away without your control (not a flame but rather just a random thought...)

How do i get outlook to make it work? I use AOL. I see it's on AOL and added it there, but I'd like outlook to access it.
