You people don't seem to understand that you're one of my few sources of entertainment during the day and when you're silent, I'm reduced to talking to the dog. You have a job to do and you're slacking off. You're slackers. Do you wanna be slackers the rest of your lives?

Do you?

Hey Josh, I think someone is talking to you, you not going to reply?

I was hoping this was going to be one of those posts that nobody responded to and we'd just watch Josh talk to himself.

I did that for a little bit today in OT. Then it almost looked like Rachel and I had a conversation... which is a lot like talking to myself.

Not really. She's cool.

Sorry, I only have the chance to check in at night...

Hey, tell me about this boot camp thing...I remember you were talking about wanting to get into it, but I never saw the post of you getting into it...what is going on man? Or, could you give me the link to the post?

P.S. BY THE WAY, www.godcore.com rocks...

I don't think there's really an end-all thread. Maybe the "Any Marines in the House" thread in OT.

I'm going to go be a Marine and I ship out on June 24 for sunny San Diego. I've already passed all the entrance tests and requirements and all I have to do now is pay off all the debts I owe to the government, i.e. speeding tickets, etc.

Marine recruit training is 13 weeks long and then I'll be back in town for ten days at the beginning of October. After that, it's three weeks of combat training at Camp Pendleton, just north of Oceanside, CA. After that, I go to school for my Legal and Administration MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and then I get stationed God-knows-where.

Directly after that, I apply for a Navy ROTC scholarship and return to Texas A&M to finish what I started with my Mechanical Engineering degree four years ago. I'll go through the ROTC program there and, upon graduation and receipt of my degree, I'll be a commissioned Marine officer for a period of four years or longer.

The only unsure part is whether or not I'll actually be awarded the scholarship. I'm thinking positive, though.

Well, I hope all goes well. I especially hope everything with the school goes the way you want it, I know it is very important to you.

By the way, how close are you to getting your car/debts/speeding tickets etc back/paid off/taken care of?
