Please take note and be careful and responsible.

A friend of mine's son (Jamie Gores, 17) died when his highly modded Honda left the road at between 75 and 95 mph (according to the DPD accident report) on Royal Lane in Dallas yesterday.

First, I would like to say that I am very sorry for your friend and his family's loss.

Since the dad is a friend of yours is it correct to assume that he is a car enthusiast as well? I mean no disrespect but I am having a hard time wondering why a 17 year old kid would have a car like that (I read the description in an article) or did the press make the car sound more souped up than it really was?

Its very tragic and unfortunately your friend will never recover from a loss like this. I pray that time will be good to them and ease their pain sooner rather than later.
