I just had my SVT towed to the dealer on Saturday. I think my motor has gone south after 92K miles. It was making a very loud tapping sound and the oil light was flickering. Since I haven't lived in Dallas long, I really don't know any good mechanics and that's why the car is sitting at the Ford dealer awaiting its fate. I'm sure I'll receive word tomorrow of what the problem is. I am fully expecting them to say I need a new motor. If that is the case, I would like to do the 3L conversion but can I expect the dealer to do it??? Should I even go that route knowing labor costs will be ridiculous??? Can someone recommend a good shop for me to take my car??? I just need some good advice of geating the SVT fixed doing the 3L conversion.

Thanks in advance.

You know, if you give them a prepped 3L block (or a 2001 block) they would replace the engine without knowing it is a 3L. You would then have a warranty on the labor.

I would get with Brad Noon or check out http://car-part.com/

Make sure it is DOHC and keep the heads. Use the SVT upper and lower.
