I was out of town for a week, had a rented Chevy Malibu. Not a nice car. I think this is the only car I've ever driven that that I didn't want to speed in. A few times I looked down and found myself doing 5 UNDER ..... and I've never done that before. It had a pretty good stereo though (compared to ours anyway)

It was great to get back into my 'tique today at the airport : power, handling, nice steering feel, more supportive seats etc, etc.

God, I love this car. smile

Aren't those malibu's supposed to bring back glorious nostalgic thougths of the Good Old Days? Maybe those commercials are a crock of...

Ditto on the rest of your post. I still love my car after 2 years, every day I drive it I have fun. laugh

I couldn't agree more. I look foward to my daily commute to work and on the weekend I find myself making excuses to go for a drive. I love my Contours!

Making excuses? How's this?

"I'm going to the Burger King to get a medium drink." (takes 20 mile trip there and back)
"I'm dropping off the Salvation Army clothes." (10 mile drive, plus another 10 or so.. funny since the box is in the center of town, and could have been done during errands)
"I'll go pick up my sister." (heard many times, you wouldn't think so!)

I've got a whole list of them. And if all else fails,
"I'm going out for a drive." laugh

I find excuses to drive around in my Contour, too. My work is only 3 miles from me and I haven't had to drive anywhere far in the past month but I still racked up 2k miles this last month on my Contour. smile I've only had the Contour for about a month now, though. Once I get used to her I'm sure I'll drive around less. This is my 1st ATX car and I'm starting to miss rowing through the gears a little.

i take pride in the fact that i can ride in or drive other (newer) cars and yet when i hop in old blue it still feels good....aceleration is still peppy and handling and comfort overall still feels great to me....

mind u i haven't ridden in some of the premium autos that u guys own or have ridden in but all in all i get in my car after having driven something else just to feel how good is it...with a spit and holler under 97k on the odometer now smile
