there it is. it is in one piece but there are cracks which run from the center in opposite dirctions. the large crack which you can clearly see in the pic has small amounts of material missing so that you can see light though it. also, the blades and the pully move independent from eachother. if i were you guys i would change yours to a metal one now. peace.

when the pump goes bad, does it leave and pieces in the resevoir tank?

lu hey ron, thats what joe and i thought. when we got the old one off we were really concerned that it wasnt the problem. but it was. all of the impellars that we had seen off of other peoples cars were shrapnel. i think what the problem was is that the pulley was spinning independent of the impellar. peace.

i could swear i had a recall for the plastic water pump impeller on my 98 zetec!

now i see why!

it was overheating. by the time i got back to the parking lot after making my 1/4 run it was pegged. joe helped me get it all going again and everything is fine now. thanks for your concern. later.
