I went to Rt 66 dirt track to watch the team Demo Derby. Lots of car crunching! Most of the cars are 1970's big Ford LTD's and Mercs. A few Chevies and Mopars.

They also melted an 84 Subaru with a Jet Fuel car's flame! Was kinda scary with the sparks flying. The body was like aluminum foil, but the rear axle never warped. wink

No pics, but they have a website, www.teamdemo.com

The Subaru was 2 wheel drive too, real old and dorky lookin. The sparks were flying, but the rear axle and drums stood up to the heat.

It's all in fun, I just thought it was a funny coincidence. I am sure WRX's will never be humiliated this way.

Here is a pic of what kind of Subbie got melted,
88 Soob

The next demo show is July 20th, I wonder what car they will fry then? I'd like to see a Chevy Corsica.

I'd like to see a demolition derby with an Econoline conversion van or Windstar mini-van. Those are the worst vehicles I have worked on.

I should of put my old 1980 Olds 98. I got t-boned and ripped the whole front end off a Grand Am. I got a little dent about the size of a softball. Plus it is the number one choice of gangbangers for rammers. wink

aww yeah! smile

actually that old subie probably would've stood up better in the fire than mine with its pop-can thin sheetmetal, and alloy hood.
