Try new O2 sensor and clean out the TB and the EGR valve. Also if you put in the Throttle Hung fix, remove it.

What the EGR, and where is it located
i was planing to clean the intake manifold, this weekend anyway, as well as change the plugs.
but it looks like its the o2 sensor because in OBD section it said fuel air metering ther was like 7 differnt things about that. so ill get that changed. are there Two O2 sensors in the contour is just 1. i say there is 2 but my friend keeps saying there is only 1 o2 sensor.
the obd test also said Auxiliary Emission Controls i have no idea what that is.
i dunno if i have trottle hang fix or not, how do i know if i have it or not.

You will have two or four, depending on Zetec (2) or Duratec (4) However, only the sensor(s) upstream of the (pre-)cat deal with fuel mixture. The downstream sensor(s) deal with cat efficiency. Make sure your car is warmed up. You could blow high HC if the engine is cold. But it sounds like you have a code or pending code if you failed the OBD check.

If you don't have a CEL you catalyst should be fine. At least OBD-II checks it. Anyway - keep in mind that catalyst is covered under emissions warranty up to 8/80

CEL should come on if you turn the key to run without actually cranking the engine. This is the bulb test function, and a good idea on a used car. (Shopping tip, it is easier for a used car dealer to remove the bulb than to actually fix a problem ) So if you turn the key on, without the engine running, you should see a CEL. If not, the bulb is burnt out, or disconnnected. TB
