Dan's correct.
They are illegal in "all" 50 states if they are being used while your vehicle is on any roadway. We really aren't going to do anything unless your car is being driven. If you're in a parking lot of some sort or a get-together and they are on while you're parked you're probably going to gain some unwanted attention. Shows and such are fine but on the roads it's illegal. Some states have different statutes for other colored lighting such as purple and pink but red, blue and green are illegal in all. Green is used for command vehicles at a scene or incident. Also, under car glow kits are illegal in any color while the vehicle is in motion, doesn't matter what color to include white. Neon license plates that are any color other than red are illegal in most states. Purple is the common color but while the vehicle is in motion it's against the law. Hope this helps with any questions about these things. I'm a car modder to the core but these are the facts.
