Heading up for dinner, and cresting a hill (I was going 50 in a 50), and this truck decides to pull out from a side street to make a left turn. He pulls out in front of me, no problem, plenty of time to make the corner. Then he stops, with the tail end of his truck taking my whole lane. No reason for him to.
I have a car right on my rear door panel, so I can't change lanes. So it's "hit brakes and hope for the best". I stop, just BARELY before I hit him. I truly think that if I had stock suspension and braking gear, I would have hit him. Fortunately I also didn't get hit by the Town Car behind me. He skidded sideways into and on top of the median. I don't know if he hit the truck or not, but a sign took out the TC's quarter panel pretty well.
I even kept my temper and didn't tell the truck's driver what I thought!
Now if we can just convince the public and the safety nazis that performace is a safety feature.

I've been saying it for years: the safest cars are sports cars, cuz you can avoid the accident altogether.

Had a similar thing happen the other day. Was cresting a hill on the expressway at high speed of course. I'm the right lane as I should be because I'm NOT passing. Sorry hate left lane bandits. Crest over a hill and the exit ramp is backed up onto the highway. I brake with quite a bit of room between me and the car in front. I watch my rear view. Watched a few cars bump each other. Ha ha suckers. How are your brakes today. Watch I'll get in an accident today.

I was on Coon Rapids Blvd heading towards Anoka, just beyond the Foley light. The truck was pulling out of the next intersection, don't know the street name.
Just been busy... driving to Chicago tomorrow!
Thanks for the good wishes, and the brakes were/are fine, though I was a little shook for a bit.
