I'VE POSTED THIS IN THE GENERAL FORUM, BUT I WANTED YOU ALL TO SEE BECAUSE YOU'RE SO CLOSE TO THIS SHOP. Please reply in the General Forum.

"Mike Cerra, owner of Cerra Racing & Fabrication (http://www.cerraracing.com) has extended me an offer for you CEG guys. I had my choice of you or the new TwinTurbo crew--I chose you guys (cause you rock!). Here goes:
He wants to have a dyno day. He's offering 1/2 off dyno time (that's $50/hr WITH Air/Fuel monitoring; there are NO hidden extra charges). He would also like to promote his ability to program Superchips/Diablochips. He made 16HP on a 2.5L Cougar motor with a Superchip and his own custom blend of programming magic. He has a DynoJet 248 with all the extras.

If we get enough people (10 minimum) we can do this. He is a dealer for Bassani and Borla too!

His shop is 2 1/2 hrs West of Chicago; 2 1/2 East of Des Moines. 10 Minutes from the Quad Cities (He's in Colona, Illinois).

What day in March/April would you guys want to do this? How many of you would come? Who's interested in a chip? What kind of chip?

Please reply in the General Forum.

While it is tempting, I think I'll wait for everyone else's. The chip thing is cool...

That's cool with me...If you guys want to do the local thing that's fine. We have about 5 hours of dyno time lined up so far, I was thinking that was enough time to cool your engine down...BTW, he's giving you 3 runs for $50 with A/F.

To the Superchips question:

He has the chips in stock. He dials up Superchips and downloads the software for your computer code. He burns the chip with it and runs a baseline. That is where Superchips and Cerra Racing differ. They would mail it at this point, and he would tune it. He starts to make changes to your AF curve and timing, tip-in retard, etc. and then calls up Superchips, has the programmer make the appropriate changes to the software for him (superchips does not sell or produce software so that you can change the params yourself) and save the file. He then downloads the new file to the computer and re-burns your chip. This process repeats until you get max power. That's why Superchip's programmed Cougar chip made about 7 hp and his made 16 hp.

I might be interested in doing it just for the superchip being dynoed tuned. Let me know when you decide on a date so I can see about getting the cash to do it
