"Soft" wheels (E0) or "Cobra" style wheels (E1)?

Does it have a clock, or does it just say "Contour" on the plate where the blinking red light is when the car is off (above the HVAC knobs)... clock = 1998, no clock = 1998.5

Find the build date on the ID sticker. The date is in the upper left hand corner. If it was built in February or 98 or later, it is an E1. You can also have someone run OASIS to find the build date.

Nope. A factory installed sunroof was available when I bought mine. The literature at the time specified that the only two factory options were the CD player and a sunroof.

Yep (to Big Jim). I ordered my SVT in January 97 (before the option sheet had prices on it). When the prices were finally released, there were two factory options, each costing $400: CD (in lieu of cassette) and sunroof. No factory spoiler available. Oh yeah, and the Smoker's Package was a no cost option. Mine was ordered without any of these.
