There was an article on the Holden Monaro (sp?) that was suppoed to come over as the new GTO. Looked pretty nice...

Yeah, I have been hearing about the "500"
But will it really be the Contique replacement and will anyone want to buy it after all the lousy problems with the US versions of the Mondeo. By the way???? do you Brits have as many problems with your Mondeos?????

It will square off with GM, but only Down Under, against the GM Holden "Catera GTO". US won;t get it, unless the 2004 GTO takes off.  Wow you just invented a car. can someone please explain to me why they wont bring the mondeo over here and why they stopped making contiques in the first place? b/c I still havent figured this out...

one word-
Taurus- the contour was too close in size and performance to the taurus- and FoMoCo needs the taurus as its lifeblood bread and butter large sedan- they need it to be the best selling car in america- well - the tours stole sales from the taurus so by by tour!

Euro Foci and Contours do not rattle apart after a year like they do here, Europeans would stop buying them. It appears that is a feature sought after by the US and Canada, which explains the prehistoric Sunfire and Cavalier still rolling around...
