On my way home from Orland Park last night about midnight, I came upon a Mitsu GTZ at a red light. Once the light went green to my suprise he didn't bite when I had sped away. But shortly after I look in my side view and he is flying. So i think "game on", and I punch it. If you are unfamiliar with this area, there are a lot of high speed twisties and a lot of hills, precisely where our Contiques Strive. Little to his knowing I was able to not only catch up but fly right by him. Now at this time we were doing about 85-90 mph and we were approaching an underpass that lead to a bridge. So then I slowed and he followed suit, but not until he cut me off. This of course did not me me happy. I mean this was only friendly street racing. So I had to settle the score and fly past him and take the turn under the underpass at the same speed that I was going into it, 85-90. At this time I knew I had the edge going up the long bridge. So I proceeded with caution because this was a common speed trap(LaGrange/I-55 Intersection). sure enough there was a cop and we both stomped on our brakes. Luckily neither of us were stopped. We then proceed to enter I-55 north and the enterance ramp was one of those 35 mph ramps, but with him on my ass I let him know who was top dog here, so once again I went WOT and lost him. It was great tires were screatching and my ass end was kicking out a little. If you havent felt this sensation before you don't know what you are missing. Back to the story. So we are both on the highway and about 10 seconds after we enter I see his lights quickly approaching. See, I am crazy, but not that crazy to approach felony speeds. He evidently was and I let him fly by me at about 110 mph. Which is twice the legal speed limit. Once he saw that I was not game any more, he slowed down for me to catch up. But once I got within 2-3 car lengths of him, he would stomp it. At this time my exit was coming up so I did not realy want to continue, for I had my rush of the day. I gave him a friendly flash of the highs and went on my way. GTZ's BTW have a performance suspension and Mitsu's high output engine. 190 hp and 205 ft-lb of torque Check it out here GTZ SPECS

IMHO, the GTZ is really an appearance package, not really all that fast. My 95 SE ATX has beat a GAGT, and those have good pickup. I've run 16.4 @ 85.4 at the track, so I'm not worried about a GALANT!

That's cool. You got to show those arrogant people what a real car is! But I wouldn't call a Mitsubushi a great car. I like the styling but I've heard too many stories of messed up engines, burning oil, etc. I guess us Contour owners can't talk much either. 00' Contour SE Alot of mods and counting

I am glad that you agree LocoZetec 'cause on my list of arrogant drivers Mitsu's are up there. I mean they always drive around in their sporty looking eclipses (sp?)and we all know that it takes a lot of mods to make them contenders. BTW the BMW and Caddy drivers are up there also. They seem to think that they own the road, and we all know who does. And they are Contique drivers. :p

Beemers are the worst, they usually buy the car to impress their social climbing friends.

I agree that BMW owners are up there. I had an older guy next to me at a light, gave me a dirty look, and when the light changed gunned it. But I have to say it is mostly the young punks who got their car from their parents who are the worst ones. I know this because I know a few. More power to them. I'm done *****'n.

most people who can afford a nice bmw or benz is either because they won the lotterty, or they worked for it. they are beautiful cars and i dont see whats the problem with them. no offense but the contour isnt anything to be bragging about. our cars are in totally different classes. if i could of had a nice bmw instead i would of taken it...
