Guys and Gals: I joined a new racing club that I thought you might want to hear about called Midwest Racing. We are a "Go and Show" club based in the West Burbs of Chicago that is dedicated to American cars and trucks. We have monthly events at Byron Dragstrip and meet at Cue-Can-Do for meetings and social events (located on Irving Park Road and Wise Road in Shaumburg). It is a very open and friendly atmosphere that does not favor any make of car or truck, as long as it is American made! I plan to run my 98 SVT Contour (and the Snake when she is ready) and my girl is running her 99 Cougar, and yes there are quite a few ladies that race in this club...so bring your wives/girlfriends and their cars! Some of the other cars in the club include...Grand Am's, Grand Prix's, Caviler's, Camaro's, T-Bird, a Mustang, an Escort, Dakota's and an S-10. Times (so far) run from the 12's through the 17's and everyone is divided into appropriate time classes....so don't worry about what you drive. We have members with 4 cyl, V-6's, V-8's to a n2o juiced Dodge crate motor....that is not what is important in this club, improving your times, having fun and making new friends is I was impressed with the attitude of the members in this club and they sound like they have a good time! As you can see from the cars listed above there is not a big Ford presence yet...that needs to change! I would like to invite you all to check us out. Our next meeting is April 1 at 12:30 at Cue-Can-Do where we will be working on organizing our 4/14/01 track event where we will be getting a base line for race classes. Post up if you are interested, have questions...what ever and I will try and answer what I can. We have a small web site for now, but need a new server so info is limited at this time... www.midwestracing.net I hope to see a lot of you on the 1st! I know some of you have seen this info before, but the meeting on the 1st is important for new members to attend as we will be planning our first track event (4/14) to set base times for classes. Come out and meet some other car nuts and join up!

Nick Good to hear from you and the WI guys! I posted that invite on NECO in the Drag and in the Land of Lincoln forums a while ago...Lots of "views" but no posts??? What's up with that? Direct your brothers n' sisters over there and help create some interest! We meet once a month at Cue, usually on the 1st Sun of the month (at 12:30) and usually race the following Sat. Just to let you know, the club does ask that all the members make it to the meetings and track events...even if you are not going to race. I say that not to discourage you, but just an FYI because of your driving distance. If you guys don't have an issue with that, come on down. We would love to have you I will happily put up that post in the WI forum per your request

Hey people me again. Seen mention of people from Wisconsin coming. Just wanted to let everyone know I am in the middle of setting up a Wisconsin chapter of the club. It looks like it will be in the Juneau area. Any questions, just shot them at me. Being the Vice president I will answer as many as I can. We are not opposed to opening other chapters in ohter areas. Minimum requirement would be four people to start. Anyone from the Wisconsin are epsecially the Juneau area either come to our April 1st meeting or come out to Byron on April 14th when we expect to be meeting with the guy that is going to head up the Juneau chapter. As ofr anyone in the Chicagoland area come out and join up with a growing club.

I'm still trying to decide on whether or not I'm gonna come.. I really shouldn't because I have no money, but I really want to because I wanna get my car onto a track in a couple weeks and figure out whats up with the wisconsin chapter that is being made.. If i end up going, how long is this meeting gonna last? Do you guys do anything afterwards? If no, can i hang around at the CEG meet that I guess it going to happen at 2pm?
