I have had many problems with my contour, but i do love it. I don't blame the car or the company, I blame the people that had it before me. I got it at a bank repo and it looks like it has been driven through a corn field in a high speed cop chase. The inside looks like the carpet was cut looking for drugs. Could be my imagination, but that is what I think. I am wanting to get a new one, and I have read where many ppl have gotten great deals. I was just wandering where I should look around. Are there any websites that are really good? What about BlueBook sites? I know they are out there as I have found them, but it has been years. Just thought someone might have more experience with a recent purchase. I would like to get a 99 or a 00 if I can get a good deal.

U had bad auction experience.... Look for a GSA Auction in your area... They are gov cars... all of the contours are maintained very well and work is doen by the dealer. I got a 99lx for 4000 heres the one in syracuse, ny www.tristateaa.com GSA isnt like bank repos there quality cars T he contours go from 4-5500 depending on miles and features

For finding them try for sale yahoo classifieds...then from there you may find other services in your area that link ads to yahoo's classified, like I did. Also autotrader.com is another place with ads.

Found my 'tour hidden in the back of a new car dealer's lot on May 1st, 2002. Wasn't looking for a Contour; just reliable CHEAP transportation. !It had a 2995.00 price tag on it and 156,000 miles. I took it for a drive, and it ran nice, but when we got back it was smoking, and had thrown a CEL.
I offered the dealer 750.00 and my '89 Cherokee that the door had fallen completely off, had bad exhaust, ran hot, leaked oil, and had 265,000 original miles (I bought it in '92 with 86k)! ONLY on the condition that he fix the 'tour!
HE TOOK IT!
He detailed the 'tour in and out, put on new wipers, fixed the overheating thing and CEL, and gave me free inspections FOR LIFE. (30 bucks a year here in MA)
The only thing I know about the car is that it was originally in the Hertz rental fleet.
Just turned over 166,000 miles and the only money I've put in was for a p/w motor, it gets 27 mpg, leaks no oil, a/c blows ice cold, and except for roadrash on the nose,the paint is pretty good, and my kids are not embarassed to be seen in it!
I honk every time I pass the dealer!

Check EBay and also dealer lots. Some even have 6's.
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO.
Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!
