What a suprise... Street racing goes on everywhere! Several popular racing streets in DC have been changed to more of an "S" pattern by putting concrete blocks on the street so there is no straight line. Several people have been killed on these roads as well...
Went down one night to check it out and man what a sight, guys pulling big block mustangs off of trailers and pouring that "sticky liquid stuff" on the ground to gain traction. What a disaster waiting to happen....

Police also discovered some of the cars were illegally hooked up to nitrous oxide. The chemical can reportedly double or triple a car's horsepower.

Since when is it illegal to have nitrous? Double or triple hp. So Trapps must be running 400-600 hp.

Hey, it is ok with me if they make the roads curvey......I hate long straight stretches anyway.......how often do you feel like going 180mph huh?

Just call me Judge.
People suck.
Life begins at 170mph...until that point it is just boring.....

I know for a fact that New Jersey considers nitrous oxide a controlled substance and requires a license for its use in any way. If you have a truly "off road" vehicle, they will give you that license but not for a street car. IIRC one of the NJ drag strips (Atco or Englishtown) does not allow nitrous at their track for that reason.

Not sure how this compares with MI laws, but it isn't unheard of.

lol my thoughts exactly. gotta love the media. on a side note though, there has been 2 tragic drag races in the past month in the area. One was with 2 vettes racing on gratiot and they ended up killing a respected barber shop owner from Detroit. The second one happened last week. a civic and an accord were racing in Warren when a car with a family of 3 on board pulled in front of the civic and it ended up hitting a tree and killing the kid driving. thats disturbing right there.

street racing is risky as hell but compare 6 deaths a year from drag racing to the thousands caused from drunk driving and tell me whats the bigger problem.
