OK, that little cone that pops loose and has wrecked so many water pumps....why does it pop loose? I have an idea.
For those of us without dual-mode dampers, there is a vibration throughout the engine at 2500 RPM, which is a speed that some people might do on the highway. Could this vibration be shaking the cone loose?
I intend to do my water pump in the next couple of weeks (there will be a question or two in the "Problems" forum), but I am also thinking of doing the dual-mode damper. Is there any place other than BAT to get one, especially in Canada? Thanks!
