im new so you guys dont know me but i just bought a 98.5 svt. I stored it november 27th and bought a toyota corrolla.
Well the friggin trans blew on it and i had to pull the svt out.
The contour svt drives worse in the snow than any other car i have ever driven.
i guess i need snow tires now or something?
Just thought i would share.

oh and if anyone knows why the engine coolant light comes on for about 30 seconds while the car is first started, please let me know.
Do i have to use a specific coolant for it???

Please let me know.
thanks
Gabe

You probably just need a little more coolant to the system, even if you have it filled to the max line. The sensor is placed kind of high in the reservoir so it sometimes reads as if the coolant level is low. I had this problem with my SVT when I first bought it and adding a little coolant solved it right away.

I get the light only if I park my 00 SE Sport on an uphill. If I park on a level surface or on a downhill the light doesn't come on.
