K, so the battery dies, its a old FoMoCo red top, 73 months old, time for a new one... fine.
Now the car won't idle. This is somewhat disconcerting 'cause I gotta go to Cincinnati this weekend. Oh well i guess I will just keep my foot in it.
In other news, SP5000s are much better then D60A2s with the steel belts showing in the snow.
Anyone run into the idle issue? If i stop at a light it falls to about 300, then kicks up to about 1000, then falls back down. Sucks.

You need to let it try to idle for about 5 minutes. Reset the battey and let it learn. Then take it out after it seems to get the idle right. Then go take it out and get on it. It should be fine.

My IAC went bad anbd that is pretty much what it did. I would also make sure the new battery is fully charged, disconnect it and reset the computer. Start the car and let it try to idle itself without you touching teh throttle (it will try to die a few times) sometimes it will clear itself.....sometimes you ahve to buy a new part....

Thanks for the input, I will try disconecting the battery and resetting the computer and letting it re-learn. I was thinking IAC too, but disconecting and reconecting the battery is cheaper so Im game to try that first.
Thanks agian.

Sorry but I just have to say this, shouldn't this be in the Problems Forum, so more people could respond to your problem?
