metal gears....approx $50 a set, in aluminum, as per a local CNC/FAB shop. I have a friend drawing up the CAD prints for the gear set. Gears should be cut by the end of the month. If they work well, I'll have a batch made for the DIY'ers. Also, I've contact the original maker of the moon roof (WEBASTO), hoping to bue module parts in bulk (another alterative). Waiting for their answer.

Hey, mine trashed itself too... I removed it and rebuilt the whole thing as a straight drive, so now don't have positional cutoff cams and have to watch how far it goes. Crappy design. But it still works...I will have to get the replacement ass'ly either new (heard there are several) or from a boneyard, sooner or later...metal gears would be nice. The factory moonroof itself is great, well built and never leaked...but the motor assl'y is junk. So far, the only original part to fail after 44k miles.

98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....
