Heya Everyone,
I just got myself a new cluster set which is from a 96 Contour SE. I needed it because I bought some indiglo gauges and they don't go with my current set of gauges.

I was wondering.. does anyone know how to turn back the miles on the new cluster set ? I know its illegal but the new set that I bought has 70,000 miles on it, and currently, mine only has 30,000 big difference!

Thanks everyone!

anytime you touch the milage on a car- legally you have to declare it as Milage Believed to be ....

(if you have to though turn the milage with a drill or something fast and go forward- not back- you cant go back these days- just go forward adn then over to 0 again and then to 30K

where did you find indiglo gauges for the non svt gauge cluster? as far as I know you cant turn our miles back, but I might be wrong. someone told me a story but I dont know if it is true, something like the computer reads the miles and if it is adjusted it will turn back to what it is. might sound stupid just somthing I heard.

Micah

never tried though

I found the indiglo gauges at the:
www.fordcontour.org site. Look under the
FCO Store. The gauges are for the 1995 - 2000 SE Models.

Thanks about the roll back.. or foward.. I hope I can figure something.. if anyone has any ideas, please send them my way.. I would like to have my miles back.. lol

From what I've heard, you can just take out the odometer piece and switch it with the other one. I'm not sure how it's done but I've heard you can do it. HTH!

You CAN physicaly getinside the cluster and click the dials backwards.I noticed this when I was doing the SVT glow a couple years back.

Do you just have to take off the speedo gauge then to click back the miles ?
