stuff like this makes me wonder
http://www.mrbg03219.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Neal%20Massive%20Burnout.wmv

How do these people make the front tires break and won't a burnout like that make the engine 'burnout'? lol

the brakes are usually biased more towards the front, meaning the fronts clamp harder than the rear. it's also a truck, which will has a light rear end. some burnout addicts install line locks, which allow the front brakes to be applied without the rear.

it's not really bad for the engine, though I wouldn't do it often. worst that happens is some trashed tires and perhaps some glazed rear pads.

eek laugh

Family night at IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) they have a burn out comp. It was in the paper, talking about getting kids off the street, etc. Kid in an 87 Mustang won the comp last week, burned them until they were gone! eek

There used to b this place around me that had burn out competitions. Whoever roasted them the fastest got a new set of tires, the bikes usually won.

I had a friend in high school that used to brake torque his truck to do burnouts, the engine was fine but he blew up the gears in the rear end.

Last year, I saw a older Camaro caught on fire when doing burnout. LOL

Hot rodders sometimes add line lock that you can control to lock just the front brakes. Don't have to fight the rears this way.
