that really sucks Kris. you should have left the original H.U. in there; they are such a ***** to get out! at least for me lol. my cousin got all of her stereo equipment stolen out of her car in canada, along with like 100 CDs.

When I used to own 5.0L Mustangs (had several), that always used to happen to me. One time, they even jacked my whole car when I just went in to get a pop in a store! They got my whole system that time too (even though the cops found the car later on). But now that I've gotten older, and grown smarter, I realized that it's much cheaper to go with the stealth look. Yes, when you peek into my car, you can't see anything aftermarket. Even made a dummy faceplate out of the stock stereo (with all the knobs glued on) that snaps over the mp3 deck I got (fits on after you remove mp3 deck's faceplate). All my seperates, amps, crossovers, are behind stock grills and/ or in the trunk. And since I go with that approach, I've never had a system even touched. Also, another good tip from the wise, is when pulling into a parking lot, or driving around in residential neighborhoods, TURN IT DOWN! Don't advertise your system. Having big Orion or Fosgate window banners on your front windshield ALSO count as advertising. I won't ever go driving around letting every thug know what system they want next. Try these precautions, and I bet you'll never lose another dime in stereo equipment.

I wonder what's worse -- getting all that stolen or having to talk to the insurance company.

First night in our new apartment a year ago, my truck got broken into. They took my CD Changer and the printer that was sitting inside. Plus they nearly ripped my dash apart trying to get the wires for the changer out...stupid thieves...
The only part I was mad about was the fact that I had to replace my window. The stereo, well, let's just say it got replaced with a nicer system. HEHE!!!
Well, later..

sorry to hear of the misfortune.
I wrecked the 95 LX, and decided to place the equipment in a probe, until I got the replacement (the SVT, that I didn't know at the time) and within ONE day.. the hatch was smashed, and the 2 12", the AMP, and the changer were all taken..
SUCKED.. I can relate... hope you are able to recover...

Sorry to hear about the stuff getting stolen. What kind of equipment were you running that it was worth so much? Or were those canadian prices?

those figures were in canadian $$, so half that and its what they were worth
the funny thing is, my subs have been unhooked the whole time i have been here (so no stereo pounding) and have no banners or anything, have the front windows tinted and a non flashy deck, so im just amazed that they would do this RIGHT in front of my parents house (on the front lawn outside window)
what makes me mad is not the misssing stereo (altough it would be nice to play the radio..) more of the fact that they smashed my window infront of my parents house during the Independance weekend, guess ill have to pick somehting up from a pawn shop for going home tunes..

True Dual exhaust with X pipe and Redline mufflers KKM Tru Rev intake H&R Springs/KYB struts Apex-i S-AFC *cough* happy juice *cough* 17" Ace Spades 4 Pt Racing Harness Window Tint all around The list above would be enough to convince me that your car has all the extras...you're lucky you still have your wheels. I hate criminals! That has to be the number one (Make that number two, after my wife ) reason my car will remain stock on the outside(besides tint)- theft. They may get away with it now, but what goes around comes around.
