Please be gentle with me for posting this topic here. I'm resurrecting my buddy's 93 Linc. Continental on Monday in order to sell it. I need to know (if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great) how to reset the computer. The car had an engine fire, and the engine was replaced, but since then he's been having a problem with the car jumping on hard accelerations. Before getting a tranny diagnostic, I want to try this, check the motor mounts, tourqe converter etc. The car has the 3.8 V6 that was standard in Continentals, Tauri, Windstars of the mid 90's. Also, his Instrument cluster (digital) hasn't recorded mileage or displayed mph since the rebuild. I'm hoping that resetting the EEC will help this. Pls help if you can.
