I found this today and thought it was cool as hell. You use an inductive lead from a timing light, solder it to a microphone jack, hook it up to a spark plug and record it. Convert it to a wave file, plug in a few variables into this guy's software, and it can take that sound file, with the data, to calculate horespower.

Three years ago, when this was first posted to the mailing list, he offered a discount of 1% per person, up to 25%.

Hopefully there is a variable to change for wasted-spark ignitions like ours. Otherwise you would need to have it say it is a three cylinder engine that spins twice as fast. (plugs fire twice per cycle)
