If anyone here knows the pipe-plug socket size for the 2.5L
auto-transmission drain plug, I would greatly appreciate you sharing that
information.

My Haynes manual doesn't mention it, area dealerships are less than
cooperative (surprise), and I'm damn near ready to just go out and buy a
complete set of pipe-plug sockets (metric and standard).

But I thought I'd check here first...

When I did mine, I just used a small breaker bar. I beleive it was a 3/8" drive, but it could have been 1/2". It was quite a while ago. I will have to check.

Note: Before you loosen the plug, take note of how far in it is put it back in just a tad further.

Just get a set of metric tools and you'll be all set. I forgot what size it is since the last time I worked on one...

It's a 3/8" drive no need for any sockets. Just insert the ratchet into the plug and turn.

About 4 quarts. When you drain from the drain plug, you cannot drain the torque converter so you do not get the entire 10 quarts. Some do a double drain, with a short drive between, to get a larger percentage of the fluid changed. If you want to change all the fluid you will need to use the hose in a bucket method and flush the trans. This has been covered many times before and you can probably find out about it with a search.
