I had lots of fun yesterday at the track. My times are getting better by about .2 seconds per run. I'm still learning how to launch! I can't get my 60 ft's under 2.5. In my first run, I got wheel hop so bad, all of the change flew out of the little dash compartment and into my lap and passenger seat. (I think I heard the car start to cry!) The next times, I didn't launch as hard, around 2500-3000. I'll probably lauch at idle on my next visit. People had a good laugh, because I was running up against the hubby in our Cobra which is finally running 12's. In this particular video, it's my second run, and I'm getting smoked by a modified GT. Hilarious, but fun nonetheless. I'll get better, just need practice, and NO MORE wheel hop!

Since no one else was out there, I assume everyone was in K'zoo. Sounds like you had a good day too.

its not real good on your clutch or your diff, but svt2000 has had good success launching at lik 5000-5500 and slipping the clutch to stay just short of wheel spin/hop.

What was your best time yesterday?

You forgot something...what did it run in the 1/4 mile and what was the speed? I'm curious about the speed and I understand that the E.T. wasn't as good because of your learning curve on the MTX. I haven't as yet been down the track in a stick car so I need to learn myself Let us know were all curious.

I didn't forget. The numbers are THAT bad. Ok, here it goes, but only because you asked...

1.154--Reaction
2.596--60 ft
6.963--330 ft
10.593--1/8 ET
67.8--1/8 mph
13.675--1000' ET
16.29--1/4 ET (Hey, stop laughing! I have feelings. If I'm cut, do I not bleed? )
85.23--1/4 mph

Now remember, this is after I had gotten a bit better by the end of the day. So just imagine what my REALLY bad runs were like.

I also learned a few other things yesterday. People aren't very friendly at the track. But, I did talk to some nice guys in some Civics. They were wondering what I was running. I think they were running mid 15's. Anyway, I had fun, and that's all that matters.

By the way, I'm running stock. I've a got a K&N, but woop-dee-do.

don't sweat it too bad, most of the time you are missing is in your 60 ft (ie launch) and the Contour is certainly not easy to launch well on the drag strip (especially Milan, greasiest track on the planet!) I ran a 15.7 at Milan just by getting my 60 ft down to a 2.4 so you really aren't that far off at all.
