Okay, my 0,02 Euro here... I've been told the sound of the door closing has to do with

I test drove a Passat when I was looking for a new car before I bought my SVT. The ride was very solid. It wasn't a performance vehicle but had a great feel. Although it was not the fancier V6 model, the interior was very sharp. A 2002 V6 Passat is my second choice vehicle.

I think that you may be a bit biased...
Vee Dub's have only been delivering quality goods for a few years. They have produced a sound engine, but shoddy interior and trim parts for years. they actually introduced the 100k/10yr Drivetrain warranty thing to combat the ****ty reputation. I know a guy here in Phoenix that is pulling awesome numbers out of the 1.8T motor. They are great cars that suffer from inferior interiors... Go figure. The San Diego CEG lost one of its most valuable members to the GTI. it happens... Ford could learn a thing from VW, in some respects.

we were inundated in the UK about how they went to alot of places testing stuff to include in the new model

they are used alot over here for company cars and a few of my colleagues have them and swear by them

i have been in one and i have to admit i liked em but prefer my mondy anytime
