If I have my facts straight, the 3L conversion uses the SVT 2.5 heads.
So if I were to rent a Taurus for the weekend, take out the engine, put my 2.5 liter back in to the taurus, would I be able to put the 3L heads on the 2.5 engine? If so, would it run ok?

I don't think it would be right and I don't think you should do it, but that would probably be the coolest thing I've heard anyone do in a long time.
Old - 95.5 SE with lot's of mods. New - 98 Black SVT with few mods.

Hey, I was actually thinking about the feesability of this too! Im too honest to do it myself, but I was curious if it could be done. I mean, make both cars into working vehicles again. I just thought it was funny that someone finally asked it for me...

the chances of a rental car having the 3L duratech instead of the 3L Vulcan are pretty slim.
It's all about balance.

IMO the payoff is not worth the risk you would take by doing something like this.
2k silver svt #1721 1. custom stereo 2. KKM induction kit 3. eibach springs 4. sho shop y 5. custom catback 6. A6 2-way side markers (clear) 7. Pro-M 75mm 8. Illuminated moonroof switch 9. removed door ding guards 10. more to come.. "Ignorance breeds stupidity.."
