I guess my biggest annoyance is the constantly changing car names. Let me put it this way... the Contour would still be named the Falcon in my way of thinking. Automakers seem to be changing names all the time for no good reason. I'd have also kept the Escort name rather than Focus.

Don't even get me started on trim line inflation!

You guys missed the worst ones (spelling?):

Stanza
Cressida
Laganza
Nubira

What the hell do these mean? The Japs are the worst in naming cars, by far.
A lot of names are the work of think tanks/ ad agency types. They try to convey meanings of quality, superiority, etc., like:

Achieva - achievement
Acura - accurate
etc.

Did anyone say Nova yet? In swahili it means dragon butt. Wow Toyota really screwed up on that one.
/end sarcasm :p

I will put in another vote for the Achieva. Everything about the car was hideous, but the name was the worst.

Every other bad name I could think of has already been mentioned.

Hey, theres nothing wrong with 6000 or Mystique. I happen to be the VERY proud owner of a 1990 6000 S/E AWD, what other car had 2-tone heated leather seats, AWD, load leveling suspension, steering wheel audio controls, ABS, Bose audio system, and was as nice as that was back then? Face it, the Pontiac 6000 was the first American vehicle to take German lessons smile and even Car and Driver said that back in 1982 smile And Mystique is a very nice car too....especially when most people have never heard of them, and you can tell them that it was imported from Europe, with a 50K pricetag, and they'll never know any different smile

Did anyone mention "Citroen"? What a screw up! What the folks at that company apparently didn't know was that "Citroen" means "lemon" in French. No wonder these cars never sold well.

Seriously, doesn't "nova" actually mean "new in spanish? Or is that Italian?
