Hello,

Got a few simple questions. Just got my 1999 coutour se about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering in the trunk below where the latch goes there is a little lever. Was just curious what it does. didn't know if it was one of those that release the trunk lid from inside the trunk.

also It has 60,000 miles on it. Was going to be changing the oil soon, and wanted to know what kind you guys recommend. Think the book calls for 5w30.

Thanks for all the help, this site has been really informative so far.

Thanks again,
Bradley

Definitely go with the manufacturer's recommendation of 5W30.

If you search the boards, you will find a lot of threads on regular oil (dino) vs. synthetic. This seems to be a very personal choice. Synthetic is definitely better, but usually costs about 4x as much.

I believe that switch is the "valet lock". It will disable the trunk release by the driver's seat, only allowing the trunk to be opened with a key or by a keyless entry system.
