I just got my SVT last week, and the guy who owned the car before me put the KKM intake on it. Now from what I've read, the KKM intake for the SVT is different from the regular KKM 2.5L intake - the cap is black on it, not blue.

So I noticed that the cap on mine is blue, not black, and the hose running into the fender is drier hose, not stock (not sure what the stock hose looks like anyway).

Did the KKM intake kit for the SVT include this hose, or did it use the stock SVT hose, and are there any major differences between the 2 KKM intakes?

I'm basically trying to figure out if this is the right KKM intake for my SVT, or if I should replace it. I want to replace the drier hose, too - there's got to be a better setup than that!

Thanks!

If it doesn't have a heat shield, it would be a good idea to get one to keep the hot air out of the engine.

Mine doesnt even have a hose running to the fender... it was like this when I bought it. Should I do something to fix this?

There is a differece. The best way to tell is to check the intake side of the filter. If there is a flange extending from the inner diameter then its an SVT model. The flange serves as a mounting point for the blue rubber hose which the SVT version is supposed to come with. The hose connects the intake side of the KKM to the fender well. Non-SVT 2.5's do not connect to the fender well and do not have a rubber hose mounted to the intake side, thus there should be no flange. I have one on my SVT, and my fiancee has one on her Cougar (non-SVT). As far as I know, no SVT versions had a blue end cap.

Hope that helps. If you'd like, I'll take some pics.
